Trim a Mac screen recording in Shoverlay

Cut the start or the end of a Shoverlay recording in the built-in editor after you stop.

Trim removes time from a recording you already made. It does not change what the microphones or the screen were doing while you recorded. You cut after you stop.

Open the editor and cut

Record the screen and stop from the recording toolbar.
If you set Shoverlay to open the editor after a recording, the trimmer opens on its own. Otherwise open that clip from History.
Trim the start, the end, or both. Keep the part that shows the step.

Trimming a GIF or an animated WebP still leaves a moving image. It does not add a soundtrack that the format did not record.

Install Shoverlay on the Mac App Store. The file stays on your Mac.
