Shoverlay is a Mac menu bar app for screenshots, screen recording, and annotation. Capture an area, a window, the full screen, a scrolling page, or on-screen text — then mark it up and share it without breaking your flow.

Requires macOS 11.5 or later. Lives in the menu bar. Shortcuts are fully customizable.

Annotate in place

Arrows, shapes, text, highlighter, pixelate, spotlight, blur, and step counters. Backgrounds, crop, and insert images. Pin a capture or jump into the annotator.

OCR when you need the words

Copy text from anywhere on screen. After each capture, Quick Access lets you copy, save, annotate, or pin.

Self-timer and freeze-screen for hover states. Optional wallpaper, solid color, or clean window backgrounds. Hide desktop icons for a distraction-free shot.

History and formats

Browse recent captures. Export PNG, JPEG, TIFF, or WebP. Reopen anything from history.
