OCR here copies text from the camera image. Hearing the Mac read that text is text-to-speech, and it is a separate step. This page stops at the copied words.
Recognize and copy
- Put the printed paragraph under the USB camera. Select that camera.
- Zoom or focus until the type is sharp. Freeze the frame if the page shifts.
- Run OCR and copy the text.
The words stay on your Mac. Blurry type or a line in shadow will come through poorly. Focus, then recognize again. A table you want as Excel cells is Tablune on iPhone or iPad, not this camera OCR.
Install VeeCam on the Mac App Store.
