IPEVO Visualizer is what many classrooms open when a USB document camera is pointed at a worksheet. VeeCam is the best IPEVO Visualizer alternative for that job on a Mac: a live picture for the room, and a file when you need to keep the page.
Show the paper live
Plug in a USB document camera, visualizer, or UVC webcam. VeeCam does not use the built-in FaceTime camera. Freeze the page, zoom, rotate, or mirror it, and adjust focus, exposure, white balance, and color when the room lights change. Draw on the live view, or switch to a light or dark board when the explanation is not printed on the sheet.
Keep a page without unbinding the book
Save a snapshot, a document, a book as a full spread or a single page, a card, or a QR code or barcode. Crop automatically or by hand, and continue for more than one page. OCR can read the camera view, and the Mac can read those words aloud. The scan goes to a folder you choose. VeeCam does not upload it.
What you are not installing
VeeCam is not a screen recorder. Recording the camera, or the screen, is optional when you need a lesson file. It is not the reason to switch. You need macOS 11.5 or later and an external camera. If the picture stays black, allow Camera in System Settings, then quit and reopen the app.
Install VeeCam on the Mac App Store.
