Dragging a window to the exact half of the screen is slower than it looks, especially when another window is in front. Quick Throw sends the window under the cursor to a half, the center, a corner, or two-thirds.
Throw it
- Grant Accessibility to Gablet in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. Quit Gablet and open it again. Without that permission, windows will not move.
- Hold the modifier you set and move the cursor.
- The window at the cursor flies to the target. It does not have to be the focused window.
Gablet lives in the menu bar and requires macOS 11.5 or later. You can download Gablet for a 7-day free trial, then a paid license.
When a throw is the wrong tool
Use a throw for the standard fractions of the screen. If you need a size that is not a half, a third, or a corner, draw a snap area instead. If you want the whole desk back tomorrow morning, save a layout. If a window should leave the screen entirely, stash it.
Use the keyboard or the cursor
Gablet has full keyboard shortcuts as well as cursor-movement throws. Set the ones you will remember. The menu bar icon is there when you want the list of actions instead of a shortcut.
