Silence notifications while you record your Mac screen

Turn on Do Not Disturb in Shoverlay so other apps’ banners stay out of a screen recording.

Do Not Disturb, for a Shoverlay recording, silences other apps’ banners while the clip runs. It does not mute system audio, and it does not hide the window you are recording.

Keep banners out of the clip

Set up the screen recording.
In Recording settings, turn on Do Not Disturb.
Record the steps. Stop from the toolbar.

Turn it off when you are done if you still want banners in later recordings. A banner that is already on screen before you start can still be in the first frames. Clear it, then start.
