A page under a document camera is still just a picture until you can use the words. VeeCam can recognize text from the camera and read it aloud with text-to-speech.
Recognize, then listen
- Connect a USB document camera, visualizer, or UVC webcam and open the live view.
- Frame the paragraph, worksheet, or label you want read.
- Run OCR on that view, then start text-to-speech.
This is for a passage you want heard in the room, or for checking that the camera can see the line you think it sees. It is not a promise that every handwriting style will come through cleanly. Printed type, held still and in focus, works better than a moving page.
Save the page if you also need a file
OCR here does not replace a scan. If you need the sheet later, use a document, book, or snapshot scan and save it to a folder you choose. The image and the recognized text stay on your Mac. VeeCam does not upload them.
Keep the job specific
VeeCam is not a screen recorder and not a FaceTime camera app. Recording the camera or the screen is a separate, optional step when you need a lesson file. For a table you want in Excel on iPhone or iPad, use Tablune instead. That app is coming soon.
Install VeeCam on the Mac App Store.
