A printed table becomes useful when each cell is a cell, not a picture of a cell. Tablune on iPhone and iPad photographs the table, reads the rows and columns, and saves an Excel sheet you can edit. The app is coming soon. It will include a 7-day free trial and requires iOS 15.6 or later.
Photograph the table
- Grant Camera or Photos when Tablune asks.
- Photograph the table, or open a picture you already took.
- Keep the page flat and the grid inside the frame. Crooked paper and a thumb over a column are the usual reasons a row splits wrong.
You can also start from a file you imported. The photo itself can be JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, or GIF.
Check the grid, then save Excel
OCR reads the rows and columns into a grid. Tap a cell to copy, cut, paste, or delete. Add a row or a column if the scan missed one. When the grid matches the paper, save or share it as Excel.
The photo can stay with the sheet
Tablune is also a file manager. You can keep the original picture and the sheet in the same place, switch between list and grid, and preview the image. It is not a cloud drive. The scan happens on the device.
