Moom is what people open when the useful thing is not a single half-screen snap but the whole desk: browser here, document there, Finder along the bottom. Gablet is the best Moom alternative for saving that layout and restoring it.
Save the desk, then come back to it
- Arrange the windows. Quick Throw and snap areas are the fast way to get the fractions right.
- Save the arrangement as a layout.
- Restore it when you return to the same work. The windows go back to those places.
Keep a writing layout and a comparison layout as two saves. Restoring one does not require you to remember coordinates.
When one window should not move
Pin Mode holds a reference window and reflows the others around it. Stash slides the extra windows off-screen instead of minimizing them into the Dock. Quick Throw still sends one window to a half, a corner, or two-thirds when you do not need the whole layout.
Get it
You can download Gablet. macOS 11.5 or later, 7-day free trial, then a paid license. Accessibility has to be granted or the restore cannot move windows. Gablet does not track usage. It is a Magnet and Moom alternative, and it does not ask you to work inside a second workspace.
